Will there be Gluten Free beer available at Bitter & Twisted?

Unfortunately no,  there will not be any specific gluten free beer at the festival. However, there will be multiple cider options and wineries for those who are unable to consume gluten.

 

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets for Bitter and Twisted 2018 will go on sale in August 2018.

How do I become a volunteer at Bitter and Twisted?

If you wish to become a volunteer at Bitter and Twisted, please fill in our Volunteer Application Form and send through to Tori Evans at 6-18 John Street, East Maitland NSW 2323 or email through to Tori.Evans@maitland.nsw.gov.au

When is Bitter and Twisted?

Bitter & Twisted will be held on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 November 2018.

Can I bring my own folding chair?

No chairs are permitted into the site. Some seating will be provided at the festival.

Where is Bitter and Twisted?

Bitter & Twisted is held in the former maximum security prison Maitland Gaol. The Gaol is located at 6 – 18 John Street, East Maitland.

What time does it start?

The festival runs from 10.00am – 6.00pm on Saturday 3 November and 10.00am – 4.00pm Sunday 4 November 2018.

How do I get there?

You can drive, fly or come by train. Additional train services will be provided for the event. Please check back closer to the event for more information.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

We recommend you to pre-purchase tickets for the event as we cannot guarantee availability on the weekend. If tickets sell out, they will not be available on the day. Any tickets not pre-sold will be available to purchase at the festival.

I’m a pensioner, do I get a discount?

No pension / concession discounts are available.

Do you have group tickets?

We sure do. If you have a group of 20 people or more, be sure to speak to our friendly staff on 02 4931 2888 for a great deal.

Can I bring my kids along?

You sure can. Children 15 – 17 years must purchase a youth ticket and be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. This ticket must be purchased in the same transaction as the adult tickets.

Children 14 and under are free but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times and must call us to arrange a ticket. Under 18s are not permitted in the VIP area or Food and Beer Matching Lunch.

Sunday 5 November is Family Day with a dedicated section featuring face painting, kid’s activities, games and entertainment. To obtain tickets for children 14 and under please call us on 02 4931 2888.

Do I need to purchase tokens?

Bitter & Twisted tokens are the official festival currency once you enter the gates.

How do I get a Bitter & Twisted tasting glass?

An official Bitter & Twisted tasting glass is included with all tickets, excluding the Visitor pass.

The tasting glass is the only vessel to be used for beer and wine tasting.

Make sure you don’t lose your tasting glass otherwise you will need to purchase another at the merchandise tent.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No food or drink is permitted to be bought into the festival. There will be a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food available at the festival.

I / my child has food allergies, can I bring food for them / me?

Unfortunately no food or drink can be bought into the festival. We will have a range of local and international food stalls at the festival including vegetarian and gluten free options.

Are there ATM’s available?

There are no ATM’s on site. EFTPOS facilities are available to purchase tickets, tokens and merchandise. No cash out available.

Are pets allowed in the festival?

No pets are allowed with the exception of assistance animals.

Does my child need a ticket?

All children aged 14 years and under are free entry when purchased in conjunction with an adult ticket. The child’s ticket must be obtained at the time of sale of an adult ticket. Children without a ticket will not be allowed access to the festival. Please call 4931 2888 and speak to our friendly staff to arrange your tickets.
